Not likely. The one who got caught was allegedly connected to
MSBlaster, which is not the one that's emailing the world. Kevin
Mitnick did years in prison (several of them without trial) and did it
deter anyone? People get convicted for murder all the time. Does that
deter anyone?

And consider that most of these things originate outside the US, often
in countries that couldn't care less about it.

What blows my mind is that Microsoft gets away with allowing holes like
this to happen year after year after year - and people put up with it!
Though I've heard of several large organizations giving other platforms
the green light after being sick of putting up with all this crap lately.
