It's either a manifold leak or an off-spec lifter / rocker arm somewhere
then... probably not worth worrying about too much unless the noise is very
pronounced. You could always check your belly pan gasket while you're at it
and make sure it's not leaking.

Plain fact, the LA-based engine series likes to tick and sing - it's a 40
year old engine design, and that's just the way they run.

Someone in another thread also mentioned looking for a spark plug that may
be arcing to earth - that would be -loud-, though, and you would notice it
while running the engine in the dark.

After that, I'm stumped ;-).
