Doesn't Chrysler say not to use platinum in any
of their vehicles after about '97? As for Bosch, I
have been driving Mopars since about 1969, and
I have NEVER had a good experience with Bosch.
I once had a '76 D100, and tried Bosch, almost
every one oil fouled by about 8,000 miles. Went
back to Autolite 64's, end of problem. People at
the Kragen I go to say all the time that people who
buy Boschs there for something like a Caravan
are usually back within a week asking why their
car won't run worth a damn. It sounds like your
Brother-in-law learned a good lesson.
