Michael,

First off, did you drill the hole in the plate above the boost valve?
This greatly enhances the lock-up engagement (less sloppy). Also, did
you happen to check the boost valve retainer itself (underneath the
plate).

I'll email you a picture off list of the boost valve location.

okay, Bernd, you seem to be describing symptoms I have that I didn't
know were related....

I've had what I was expecting to be a slightly flakey torque converter,
since I get a 100-150rmp spike every once in a while when on the
highway (I've only ever seen it when using cruise, but I wouldn't have
seen it when I don't use cruise). it's done it since I towed Tom's
truck to WI... I've been keeping an eye out for my TransGo install
instructions on that to see if there were any parts I should have
replaced that I didn't.

Having dug up that sheet when I cleaned my foot-high stack of the
summer's paperwork two days ago, I'll take a look.... Okay, I'm
remembering not being happy with the spring spacing on the PR adjust
screw, and I don't remember if I stuck the spacer in the second piston
- there was something odd with that which I don't remember, but I may
just be thinking of what a pain it was to reinstall. I also don't
remember doing anything to the rear servo, which I may have been able
to swap a spring in.

so moving on.... in the week or so after I put the kit in, I did have
a sloppy 2-3 shift once or twice - it hit the rev limiter, I think -
but that has never happened since. I've also had a half dozen cases of
having to wiggle the shifter to get it into reverse. that's been
intermittent and consistent.

what could those be pointing to? TPS or boost valve retainer? and
could you describe the boost valve retainer at all? that doesn't ring
any bells, even looking through the pictures in the kit install
instructions
