Dave-

I'd install the Cometic head gaskets and a set of ARP studs, then check to
see if a couple more degrees of timing can be pulled out.

I'd also check to make sure it's getting enough fuel, before you burn a
piston or damage the shortblock.......

A friend of mine had the same problem with the Vortech Blown 5.2 in his 93'
RC 2WD......he swapped to a set of Fel-Pro Permatorque head
gaskets, installed ARP studs and checked the fuel system for adequate
fuel delivery......he also installed a MSD with boost timing retard
function.

once he had it all dialed in, this Dak is running low 12's and it has the
potential to run a high to mid 11!
