: thanks for the info Jon. I've got it on hold there for $66 (beats
: $86), and I found an AZ within spitting distance of the AA I go to that
: I didn't know was there. I talked to the one by you just now, and they

: quite a pain, but worth it to save $50 - or even $20 if I end up going
: to westfield =)

I'll be up in the Fredonia area (near "my" Autozone) on Wed - if
you would like me to go in and order anything in person for you just
let me know.

: as for the trans line, without a flare tool I'm not sure what I'm going

: I don't know if a crimper could even get up behind and around

: pressure check it. I can't easily pull it out of the truck that I know
: of (if I could it would be an easy fix), and it's leaking just enough
: that it's wet, sometimes with a single drop of fluid hanging.... it
: doesn't make for an obvious leak. I don't even know if it's the
: pressure or the return line. oy. I hate stupid crap like this.

I may have missed a couple of posts here, so you may have
already checked with the dealer, but if not you might want to
give that a shot. I checked Tenafly's site and wasn't able to
come up with anything, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean
they aren't available. Another possible option is, when I replaced
the corroded transmission cooler lines on my Mom's Olds 98,
I purchased some short pre-flared tubing sections at Autozone to
connect to the trans and trans cooler. At the end of every section
of that hard line, I put an adapter that converted the flare
fitting to NPT, then put an NPT to hose barb adapter on that,
and ran rubber transmission hose for most of the length. The
Dakota's set up may be different though; that might not work.
