<How is the cover when closed for leaving the top of the bedrails
exposed? I have a lite bar that I am going to be installing on my truck
and want to make sure that when the cover is closed it is inside the
rails like it looks like. I did notice the dial tensioners in the back
so that is a nice feature for quick adjustment of the cover. How much
does it flap around and how well does the latch secure it? It looks
like there is a hidden release under cover in the very back and thought
that was cool. Also, does it make a good seal to the tailgate while
still being fairly easy to open?

Jeff, I've had an Access cover for a couple of years. I can't speak to how
well it works in the dead of winter since I take it off the truck at the
end of November when the Lear cap goes on. The Access cover goes back on in
April.
It mounts to the inside edge of the bed rail and leaves the entire top of
the rail available. The aluminum extrusions are three inches wide. This
narrows the width across the top of bed by a total of six inches.
There is a slight amount of flutter in the material at highway speeds. I
think any soft cover will do this.
The latch secures pretty well unless you have the material adjusted drum
tight. There are two slide latches, one on each side that are only
accessible with the gate lowered. With these engaged, the "push release"
under the left side of the cover won't allow the cover to be rolled back.
The fit is tight at the top of the gate. The rear latch bar lifts slightly
when the gate is closed. This will eventually wear the paint on the gate. I
have a coat of clear spray chip guard on the top of the gate.
I can e-mail you some pictures if you like.
