You do not have to replace either arm to replace the ball joints. The uppers
are replaced by cutting the rivets, installing new joints and bolting them
in with fresh grade 8 hardware. The lowers are simply pressed in place. This
is standard automotive engineering. The problems lies, IMHO, that the joints
are simply too small for the loads placed on them by the vehicle. The
non-greaseable design does not help matters.
