pistons seize all the time, it generally causes
side pulling when using the brakes.
yes, they can fracture/split open also but usually
they will leak 1st..
boots fray and rip.
you basicly put many 100's of lbs. of pressure on wheel
cyl./pistons to stop every time you apply the brakes.
