Regarding the TB spacer or any other aftermarket bolt-on, consumers should
be aware that the manufacturer and the magazines that test them have a
vested interest in promoting that product. The manufacturer makes claims
that their product increases horsepower or torque and advertises in
magazines. The magazines get the product and dyno time for free, then test
them and publish the results. When have you ever seen such a dyno test
prove the product "didn't" make some sort of gain? You should be aware
that dyno tests, and even track tests, can be manipulated in such a way as
to "prove" that a particular product is worthwhile. Always be skeptical of
claims made by someone wanting to sell you something. On the other hand,
when friends and fellow enthusiasts have tried it, and tell you to save your
money, it's a good time to listen.
