Even if it doesn't solve the problem, a fresh set doesn't hurt, and for
$35 and the time it's a cheap attempt.

I did the tranny on my '99 annually I think. Probably more than I
needed to do. 10K seems really early unless you're abusing the hell out
of your truck.
