If it's the 42, definitely not a choice trans for big mods. But definitely
have them diagnose the problem and find out what happened. If it's
something electronic, no way the S/C would have anything to do with that.

Which transmission does your truck have? Find out and research if that
model tranny was also installed with V8s in Dakotas, Rams, or Jeeps. If it
was, the dealership will have a hard time saying your SCV6 is more stressful
than a V8.
With all the tranny problems I had, my own research discovered that the A518
in my Ram was behind everything but the Jeep I6 engines. Good luck there.
