Very comprehensive article on the new Dakota on allpar.com
http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/dodge/dakota.html
Noteworthy points:
Frame fully boxed but NOT fully hydroformed (only front clip) good/bad
GVWR is now 11,500 lbs - good
7000Lb towing capability - good
the NV244HD transfercase uses powdered metal differential to save weight
vs steel - - - hmmm - sounds bad to me... they just keep making those
t-cases less durable. Getrag trannys yeah - but they are still using NP
transfercases. So much for holding out hope for a twin stick Atlas option.
Blows the plastic body panels off the Colorado in power, towing, and
size... Chevy has better fuel economy.
