The reason rubber isn't used on long runs is because rubber hoses will
expand when subjected to high pressure. You wouldn't like the spongy feel at
the pedal.
That's why on m/c's and in hp applications for autos you will see steel
brided lines.
heck, on one of my bikes a run of the brake line is steel tubing.
Have you thought of going to a bone yard for that section?
