OK folks, this one actually has me steamed up...
I was dropping my kid off at pre-school today, and noticed that when I had a
little articulation going into the parking lot that the leaf springs in the
back went *grooooan squeek*. It had been doing this a little bit on the
right side for a while, but today both sides let loose.
I got to work and got out to take a look... the rubber isolators that sit
between the spring clamps and the actual leaves on the springs were shot -
completely gone. One was so bad the rubber had broken and popped out from
underneath the clamp. You could literally tear off a chunk and crumble the
rubber in your fingers :-(. NOT GOOD.
So, the old beast sits at the dealer now, waiting for replacement parts.
I have -never- had a vehicle of any kind do this to me before. The truck
only has 49k miles on it. I find it hard to believe that the material for
the isolators would be -that- bad.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Anyway, the regional manager is going to get a letter in the mail over the
next couple of days. Unacceptable :-(.
Have fun,
