Hmmmm - I bolted up a Trail Master 3 inch kit on Christine and have zero
issues with steering. The extension rod I put in works fine. Were the
joints on the steering shaft moving freely when you installed the
extension? Have you tried lubricating it? Might want to try removing
it and reinstalling it. As Mike said, and I'll repeat. I have not seen
a body lifted Gen III either. I can't see them having made too many
changes to the steering linkage. Assuming you have the recirculating
ball steering gear... Not much has changed with that technology in the
last 30 years. Sorry if I wasn't much help - lubing it and reinstalling
are the only two things I can think of off hand, aside from physical damage.
