OK,since everyone took a guess what mighty be wrong...if i may shed some
light onto this subject.....now as far as a ground problem..id say
yes...look at the ground behind the kick panel to the right above the gas
pedal. i had very simualr symptoms that you had. the ground came loose after
i changed the stereo. its the same one that the radio ground is attached
too...if it is loose it will play with the cluster...lights come on things
dont work...let me know if it fixed it.

as far as the coil being the problem...AHHHH NO..if the coil is bad...its
bad. there is no inbetween...
