When brake jobs go bad

Here's a little story for ya...

2001, brought my 2000 Dak in for warranty service on whatever...
Service manager says, hey, you need a front brake job, want me to add it on?
No thanks, I do brakes myself... So I stopped and picked up replacement pads
when I picked up the truck.
When I got home, the pads had 90% life left on them.

Fast-forward to yesterday (44k miles)... The Daks OEM rotors are warped to
hell, pads down to 40% life left... I just received my Jcwhitney drilled and
slotted rotors ($77 each). I got the truck up on stands, wheels off,
calipers off, and those 3 year old (NEW) pads just are NOT fitting. I called
the parts store and they verified the pads I have are only good for up to
1999 trucks.. Get this, they swapped out the wrong pads for the right ones
with no receipt. Norwood Auto Parts.

Too bad I had to put the truck back together to make the switch.. Then start
the job all over again.
