Anyone ever have a ping problem with a 318 V8?
Mine has started to ping a bit under load, especially when
I put my foot into it. It seems to do it more regularly
when the engine is warm. I tried putting through some 93
octane fuel, and it seems to clear it up, but it doesn't
seem to have any power with the higher octane fuel. The
only mod I have is a K&N FIPK.
My guess is the timing.
My truck is a 97 318 X-cab 4X4 auto.
If it is the timing, is it possible for the timing to
advance on its own like that? Just thinking out loud.
If you have any suggestions, or similar experiences,
including cures, they would be greatly appreciated.
