Well I have a new problem to add to the list of things I need to fix on my
Dak. The steering rack has decided to spring a leak at the input shaft
seal. I was pricing out racks and I noticed you can get a manual rack for
my truck (91 V6 CC). I am assuming that these racks normally would have
only come on the 4-cyl trucks. Does anyone have one of these racks in their
truck? What is the steering effort like? And if I were to swap a manual
rack into my truck is there anything special I need? I know that some
vehicles (Mustang comes immediatly to mind) require a different input shaft
to mate up with a manual rack, and some manual racks require different rod
ends.
Does anyone in the London, Ont area have a Dak with a manual rack I could
check out the steering effort on, or does anyone in the area have a good
rack, power or manual they'd like to part with?
Thanks for any help,
James
