IIRC, Diesel is a lot less refined than unleaded. Less processing =
lower production costs. Plus, they're still using up some surplus from
heating oil over the winter.

Diesel is what keeps the economy moving. If it fluctuated as often and
as widely as unleaded, the economy would be more whacked than it is.

Can't argue with that.

As for not driving to work, I'm looking forward to the winter now. I've
already made it known to some of my co-workers that if the weather looks
dicey, I'll work from home. The stretch of I-90 I traverse daily now is
probably the second-worst piece of highway in NY when it comes to snow.

| Nah... Ram 2500 CTD. Convert it to run on french fry grease :-).

| Okay, seriously, I am pretty intrigued by the upcoming diesel in the
| Liberty. Should be interesting to see what happens with that in the North
| American market.

Trouble w/ the Ram is that I'll get the same fuel mileage I get now. I
need better, if I'm doing anything like that. That said, I will
seriously look into biodiesel if I do get my hands on a diesel-powered
vehicle. I doubt there's any kind of tax credit for using it though,
considering the current administration.
