I'm sure they *could have been* too. but they weren't. We're talking
what Mopar ships versus what Benz ships here. And there's no contest
in the performance per cube of what has come out of the *factory* on
the various sides of the pond.
If you want to talk performance, let's compare numbers between
AMG-modded Mercedes versus Mopar Performance and the SRT lineup.
Viper SRT-10 uses 505ci to make 500/525 and will do the quarter in
about 11.9/121
M-B SL55 AMG uses 335ci to make 493/516 and will do the quarter in
about 13.3/110
the viper goes for about 80, and the SL55 for about 120.
At the other end of the spectrum, a BMW X5 3.0 goes down the track in
the same 16.8 seconds my 5.2L dakota takes.
