Got an '89 model in the shop right now with a bad O2 and MAP sensor (Turbo
model) with over 100K on it - runs actually pretty darn good, but needs some
oil leaks fixed.

Subject: DML: OT: Beater Help

I've been looking around lately for another beater while I have my truck
totally gone over this fall/winter. I saw one today, an 80 Dodge Shadow,
and even though I can get it for $250, I'm a little hesitant. The car has
the 2.2l?? 4 cylinder, with 101k on it. Has anyone here delt with these
engines? How many miles do they typically hold up to?

I went to allpar.com and they had a lot of info on the 4 cylinder engines,
but I didnšt see a life expectancy on the motors

If I can get 4-6 months out of the car I'll be happy. But I don't want
something leaving me stranded somewhere. After I get the truck back I have
visions of a nice dragster using a 3.9 magnum!! :) All I'll need is a
cutting torch and a little creativity! :)
