I honestly haven't had to replace the lines on the trucks...couldn't tell
you if there are aftermarket ones (could be but probably only for the older
models).

Bernd, as always, thanks! Are the brakes lines pretty much a dealer-only
part?

Rick,

You just send an email to the dml address and that's how the thread starts.
;)

On the brake line, dealership would be the first place to start.

Those are great, I was stumped....
Now I have two questions...how the heck do you start a thread on the DML? Ya
know, ask a question? I always take the lazy way and do a reply, (like this
one, so please accept my apologies for this) and: Where the heck do we get
replacement brakes lines? One of mine failed today, its causing my right
front caliper to stick.

Thanks and thanks,
Rascal

Common issue. There's a few items that cause this:

(1) Fuel Formulation (There's a TSB out on this as well)
(2) IAT Sensor getting too hot (in hotter weather, it heats up too quick and
can cause lean out conditions - sputtering)
(3) Coolant Temp Sensor (When they start to go bad, they also cause lean out
conditions)

In the last few days in the morning when I start my truck it starts first
crank but sputters for about 2 seconds before reaching fast idle. A little
while ago I've done the usual, battery, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, IAC etc..
When it's warm, no problem. Any ideas? The O2 sensors would have no effect
on this would they? (I only have 53K kilometers (33K miles)on my 97, 318 )
It seems to have just started since we've been getting really hot weather.

TIA
-Jay
