Hey, Josh!

<snip>As I found out firsthand last winter, a heater core in our trucks
can be anywhere from $500 -
$900 worth of work. I paid about $590 for mine because they discounted
my job 15% on parts and another 15% on labor. A friend in our local
dakota club had to pay out almost $1000 for his when he had it done<snip>

Jeez, a GRAND?!???!
YOWZA! How much is the labor rate in Ill!?!??!?
My local guy is charging $60/hr & the repair book says it's a 5 - 6 hour
job...The core is only $130 +/-
-AT THE DEALER- I got mine for the parts cost from my bud....
www.carparts.com has it for $72...
Bottom line: $360 + the refrigerant + $102 for the core...=$500+/-
