National Trail Raceway wins Division 3
Track Titles

The National Trail Raceway Division 3 Summit ET Finals team took 27 years
to win its first track championship last season and they weren't about to wait
that long for the next one. Using a great victory from Ray Block in Sportsman
eliminator and key late round showings from several members, Team NTR won
its second straight track championship this past weekend in Indianapolis,
Indiana.
Team NTR won the title over Wabash Valley Dragway from Indiana by 9 points
to take home the title.

For Block, the win marked the first Division 3 Sportsman title for him and
a chance
to go out to Pomona, California in November to race for the Sportsman world
championship
against the other Sportsman winners from the other six NHRA
Divisions. Block had
previous done very well in past year in the VP Race of Champions and other
special events,
but this had to be the biggest win at IRP for the entire Block Racing
team. Block used
great reaction times and his consistent Dodge Dakota truck to gain the win
and bring
the Sportsman title back to NTR where several others including Deanna and
Terry McGee
have brought it before.

Congratulations to Ray Block for an awesome display of bracket racing in
his "92 Dakota !
Ray does not toot his own horn very much so I hope that he doesn't mind if
I do it
for him.

The DML is indeed fortunate to have a member with such a high degree of
bracket racing
skills to go along with the unbelievable consistency in performance of his
318 Dakota.

My thanks to him for making me a better bracket racer. No easy feat at my
age :-)

Wishing him the best at the National Championships.

Bob
