Subject: DML: The DML

Folks,I`ve decided that it`s time to speak up about
some things here on the list. People may take
exception to what I have to say,but it needs said
nonetheless.

For some time now, certain individuals (who shall
remain nameless) have been doing certain things.
For example, the other day,a DML member posted
something here on the list. The post dealt with a
variety of things, and for a multitude of reasons many
people were affected in different ways. And I felt at
the time (and still do) that it was totally, completely
uncalled for. Now,I have no problem with making
statements and having open and honest discussions, but
there comes a point where one simply has to refrain
from such activities for the benefit of the list as a
whole.

Specifically,I would like to bring up one of the
topics with which I took particular exception, and that
is the idea that whenever someone does something, the
consequences of that action should immediately result
in the conveyance of feelings that can be
inappropriate! Folks, this is just wrong! It is absurd
to think that just because things happen (which they
do),that people can just go around acting as if it is
their responsibility to act as though what they do
should be an influence (either directly or indirectly)
on certain things! Yet,as shocking as this is,it
occurs each and every day here on this list.

Now,the way I see it,we have a choice to make. A very
clear choice. We can either NOT do or say the things
that have become fuel for those who think that
whatever is done is the result of whichever set of
circumstances leads to the sort of thing I`m talking
about OR (and this is important),OR we can attempt to
unravel the whole thing, and let it be seen for what it
really is.

Truth be told, this kind of thing normally doesn`t
bother me. And I`ve let a lot of things drop in the
past to avoid ruffling any feathers. But when it comes
to something so specific, with so many details, you just
cannot let it slide without some sort of reaction!

I just pray that the people to whom this post is
directed (and you know who you are) realize what`s
been going on,and maybe not do things like that in the
future.

Thank you very much.

Steve P.
