does it feel like a fuel problem? does it sputter and die or is it more like you turn the key off?

I'm still thinking PCM, but fuel pump or regulator has also entered my mind as a possibility. It would be nice if you could keep an eye on fuel pressure while this was actually happening. maybe a full blown scanner could do that? or one of those recording scanners like stealerships sometimes will loan out for phantom problems. got any friends with one of those?
