SOmething else I forgot to mention - the engine mounts are differnet
between 2wd and 4x4 trucks. 4x4's are designed with interconnecting
engine/trans/front axle engine mounts. This design makes it easy to
pull the stock Dak 4x4 Independant Front Suspension, and put in a solid
axle. The engine and tranny can exist without the IFS axle under it.
You will need to fab up suitable engine mounts if you try to make the
4x2 into a 4x4. Cutting away the front crossmember, as I mentioned in
my previous reply, as necesary to run the front drive shaft and
suspension componants, will remove your engine mounts from the frame of
the truck.
