Pressing out U-Joints??

All right, I got my driveshaft out after some persuasion. Now how do I push
out the U-joints?? The fsm and haynes say to put in a vice, big pipe on end
and socket on the other to push it through. After much wrenching I can't
get it to budge. Any tips on getting them out?? They are almost 11 years
old and 143k miles. I figure if I can't get them out I'll have to take it
in to have them pressed out...
