If you're using that much oil...it's probably blown. Even a thin film can
be the start of the gasket leaking. Check the PCV hose...if there's a
black, sludgy, oily film in it...it's 99% blown. (PCV system will have some
oil, but not the black built up sludge.)

Subject: DML: Bellypan question

Looked down the throttle body of my Durango today, just looking around.
There is a very thin, more like residue, of oil. The durango runs fine, no
apperant smoke from exhaust, good gas mileage. I did check the oil and it
is 1-2 quarts low. It has been several months since I checked. Is the
residue normal? I'm going to clean it with some throttle body cleaner and
see how long it takes to return.
