I realize I'm way late on this, but it's also a good idea (neccesary?) to block the piston's travel. Otherwise you will at best use a lot of brake fluid the first few stops (maybe even enough to lower your resivour enough to cause a problem) or at worst spit the piston out of the bore and then need to somehow plug the line anyway, or re-seat the piston.
