no.

I'm assuming you're talking about the plastic lenses on the lights? In
general, it's rocks or fast changes in temperature (fording a cold creek
with them on or recently turned off - this killed mine) that will crack
the lenses. Wiring has nothing to do with it - either they'll light or
not.
