Replace the check-valve (or add one) to the line on the side of the
manifold. It's a common problem.

On the EGR code, definitely sounds like the solenoid is going south.

What code did you get with the 180???

Subject: DML: Another Code (32) - EGR

If you read my other post, my 180 t-stat tripped the check engine light in
my truck. While checking the codes I found one I didn't expect. Code 32
showed up (An open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit
OR A mechanical problem found in EGR system (vaccum line leak, defective EGR
valve, plugged EGR tube, etc.)
I assume that this code will not trip the check engine light by itself.
I'm not sure how long it's been in there. I'm not sure what I should check.

I'm pretty sure I have a vaccum leak somewhere. I have the problem where
the air(a/c) will switch from the dash to the defrost/floor when the truck
is under a load (I think a vaccum leak causes this).
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should check? I've gone over all
the vaccum lines under the hood several months ago, but couldn't find
anything obviously wrong. Any vaccum lines under the dash that can be
easily checked? Are all vaccum lines considered a part of the "EGR system"?

(maybe a stupid question).
Thanks for any help.
