I buy my K&N filters from www.ajusa.com
They are under $9 each and have free shipping

Umm, did you fill the oil filter up with oil before you put it on? I've
never had a vehicle not do the knocking-slapping sound for just a second or
two before starting. My truck is bad because of the positioning of the
filter in the chassis, I can only fill it about half way or else I spill all

over the place. My educated guess is the pump just had to fill the filter
and the rest of the passageways. Mine's been draining after any extended
rest lately (Mobil 1 oil/filter), but I'm working on a remote filter so it's

1) easier to change, 2) less reliant on anti-drainback valves (filter can't
drain), and 3) so I can use a larger filter. Trying to find a good place
for it without needing $60 in fittings has been the hard part but I think
I've figured something out. I'm also going to use Napa Gold filters (made
by Wix), but a factor of that is I work at Napa and get a little
discount..I'd use K&N but I am poor right now..
