| Maybe, almost. I don't know about other model years, but on my 2000,
| the lever operated transfer case is set up like this:
|
| 4-lo
| |
| neutral
| |
| 2wd
| |
| 4-hi
|
| So if it were already in 4-hi, you would have to first push into 2wd (no
| big deal), then neutral and *then* into 4-lo, which actually requires a
| little bit of tought. I guess if you were still in park, it wouldn't be
| that difficult to get it into 4-lo.... but you would really have to be
| an idiot. I suppose we have already established that this fine piece of
| work was one, though. :-)

And even harder in a '99 or older. On those, it's

~ 2wd
~ |
~ 4-hi
~ |
~ ----
~ |
~ N
~ 4-lo |
~ |----

And you have to be smoooooth going through the gates from 4-hi to 4-lo,
else you get stuck in N-land and have to start all over.
