Aaron,
I drained mine by removing the fuel line from the fuel filter on the frame,
placed the hose in a gas can and then activated the fuel pump relay by
jumpering the + side of the relay coil to the battery. This is terminal
number 86 on the bottom of the relay. This will run the pump manually. I am
not sure which type of fuel system you have, mine is the dual line with the
regulator on the fuel rail and a return line to the tank. I think the
electrical connection is the same for all. My FSM shows the following
connections on the pump: pin 1 is fuel pump relay output. Pin 2 is Fuel
level sensor signal. Pin 3 is low fuel sense, pins 4 and 5 are grounded. So
one and five drive the pump, 2, 3, and 4 drive the fuel gauge with the
grounded line (4) being the wiper (center lead) of the potentiometer. Hope
this makes sense.
