Mike, four posts within minutes of each other, pent up frustrations or DML
withdrawls since Tuesday? I agree that the Germans are kicking our ass, but not
necessarily in horsepower. My 325I only has 184 HP but is generally (or
literally) quicker than a lot of cars of similiar size/weight, with more
horsepower, primarily due to the gearing of the 5-speed automatic and the rear
gear ratio. The car is basically a dog out of the hole, but once in second gear
near 5500rpm it really comes alive, and right through fourth gear acceleration
is strong. Fifth gear is the basic overdrive, not much happening there..So it
basically comes down to programing and gear selection which they seem to tailor
to the "driver" rather than the "commuter" in all of us. Of course this is just
one mans opinion.

Mike
