A couple of items for you to check on when doing this job:
1. Be sure the airbag will not go off! I am not sure if simply unhooking the battery will do it.
2. When replacing the evaporator, there should be an "O ring" seal where the evaporator tubes connect at the firewall. The new evaporator may not come with this o-ring, but they should be replaced at the same time.

We did this operation on my wife's Voyager van last year. Shop said 8-10 hours for them to do, it took us about 14 hours! We saved the $850 labor cost though...
