Do you remember what it was doing for you to realize it was bad?

Anyone know how these clutches know when to engage and disengage?

I replaced the one on my 318 a couple years ago. Cost me $50 I think for a
new one from NAPA or Autozone. Can't remember where I bought it. Been a
while.
