Mine roared like a lion when I replaced it, much louder than it used to. The
fan clutch is a hydraulic temperature sensitive unit. I think it engages at 210
rpm. I am not positive, but if you can freely turn the fan with the engine off
more than 2-3 turns, the clutch is probably bad.
