   Hi Dan,

I checked my 1992 and 1996 FSMs, along with the Mopar Performance
Magnum Engines book and a book about rebuilding small block Mopars in
general, and couldn't find any reference to how much backlash or play
is allowable for the distributor. The only reference I saw to anything
even remotely related was in the Magnum Engines book which listed the
clearance between the lower distributor drive shaft and its bearing
to be between .0007 - .0027 inches. If you'd like me to pull the
distributor cap on my '92 or '96 318s and see what sort of play I am
getting at the rotor tip, let me know.
