Tough comparison. The 318 has a little more torque, and it comes on
lower in the RPM range. The 4.7 LOVES to rev, and is somewhat lighter
(I think I heard 50 pounds?), which gives that truck a weight
advantage. And they have completely different transmissions (assuming
automatic), so tranny internals, control systems, weight and ratios
will all play a part.
