We're all on budgets, some just have bigger budgets than you and I.

What motor do you have in your truck? Cold air intake, exhaust,
superchips/hypertech, and maybe a TB and it'll wake right up.

I also noticed that the mysterious flat spot in the mid/upper 2000 rpm range
dissappeared when I removed the clutch fan off of the front of the water
pump.

>From what I've heard the ram-air effect the shaker gives is rather
lackluster. The hood flares up and deflects the air over the shaker itself,
negating any ram-air effect unless you're going "pretty" fast. Of course I
have no experience with this, nor do I have any other information to prove
it. It's just what I've heard. Besides, there are plenty of nice functional
ram-air hoods out there to be had at half the price of a shaker. All the
shaker really does is look cool IMHO. On today's motors they don't even
really shake all that much.
