I've had reman alternators, master cylinders and wheel cylinders that that
were bad out of the box. One time I went through 3 master cylinders on my
Suzuki before I got a good one..
Consider the cost of the part against your time if you have to pull it
back out and take it back to get another. Whats your time worth?
I weight the effort of replacing the part against my time. Sometimes I
will go with new instead of a reman just because I wouldn't want to tear
it apart again because I got a bad one.
