Well, that may be your theory Gary, but I don't think we are trying to
convince anyone that a marriage will work. It's generally just a great day
of celebration that some choose to share with their families and friends. I
can only speak for my two sons and daughters though. My oldest son is 30
and he and his bride eloped which was fine with me, they are adults..so they
had the cheapest ceremony, it cost me nil, but their marriage is the only
one of the three married so far that is shaky. I just cannot relate
marriage expense to marriage stability, but I do understand your theory,
just would not be able to agree as much as I do respect your opinions on all
things.

My theory had always been those that spend the 20k on a wedding are the
ones trying to convince everyone the marrage will work. It's like
putting up a false front, they have to make it appear like it's the
perfect fairytale scenereo with the church wedding, white roses,
baloons, clowns, and everyone on earth there. It's all a front, with
divorce papers being filed within 5 years.

True love doesn't need all that crap, just the vows and the willingness
to commit to one person forever. If you have that, all the weding crap
is insignificant. :)

Plus at a small wedding, you feel more appreciated. Expecially when
they unwrap that brand new George Forman Mean Lean Grilling Machine you
got them as a wedding gift! You can smell the love sizzle! :)
