I really enjoyed watching the curling this year. I watched only a few ends in the 02 olympics but I this year I watched every game I could. Especially that American girl team!! Wow!! I wish we had a curling group down south here but ice and 60 degree winter days don't mix. I too doubled my hockey game TV time, if not tripled. I watched games that didn't mean anything to me. What constitues offsides and icing in hockey? And in curling, what do the announcers mean when they say the curlers are sending a lot of weight? Do the stones have different weights or does the stone weigh different at different parts? Help a reb understand these yankee sports!! I really enjoyed watching the events!

I have a daughter that lives in Detroit and she loves to go curling with her fiancé. They go each week. "Hacky"...lol I fully expected Canada to just kill everyone else in curling, it was a real surprise to even see Americans near a medal. Fascinating sport.

Ya, you betcha. I was disappointed about the hockey too, but there were some really good games. I was amazed by how many names I could recognize from the NHL. I think I may have doubled my lifetime consumption of televised hacky.
I was watching some of the curling today here at work. Its Friday, and the A.V. repair side of our I.T. department has cable. =] I never thought I'd be as riveted to the TV by a bunch of cheeseheads sliding rocks on ice, but there I was. This weekend, the spouse and I are going to a local skating rink to toss a few stones ourselves. Whoodathunkit.
