"i've had to have it charged " suggests that you are not doing this your self.
For less than $20 you can get a hose with a gauge and as I stated before the
cans of R134 are about $3 each. The connection for filling the system is a
quick connect and takes about a minute to add a can.
I have had vehicles where I need to add a can or two at the beginning of summer
and maybe another can before summer is over. Have kept these vehicles for years
and just treated adding freon like adding oil.
