IMHO, they say "do not reuse" for a reason. They're less than $5 each at the
dealer, just go buy them. $10 isn't worth injury/your life. Call me
paranoid if you like...

After they've been used once the nylon ring is crushed and won't grab as hard
when you thread it on the second time.

To each their own, but they're a cheap part.
