I don't think you can yet get one at every service plaza on the thruway.
Ohio and Indiana do not have any ETC availible (Electronic Toll
Collection). So it would help through Chicago and that's it.
Colorado has a tollway too, I think 70 around Denver. I think they have a
non-EZPass ETC of some sort, but I'm relatively sure EZPass isn't accepted
there.
EZPass is pretty universal in the nearly new england area (NY, NJ, PA) but
Florida's SunPass isn't compatible, Maine's Transpass isn't compatible,
Oklahoma's thing doesn't interoperate, IPass *just* started less than a
year ago. And I don't think OH and IN are ever going to go down that
road.
